1989 range rover door locks

HELP !!!
The front passenger door of my vehicle is partially closed,but the lock mechanism has locked the door,i cannot unlock the door or completely close it.
As it is locked it is not likely to open in a hurry !
I have tried various peoples ideas,but to no avail, as yet.
All ideas accepted...apart from cutting the actual doorskin !
