just a little bit from a non hgv connected business, i know that all the lorry drivers would blockade/picket/block up arterial roads in the country, its not the answer..... no money would be earned, people would be off work as there is no fuels, and people would panic buy pushing prices up further, its easy have 1 day a week that all drivers (car/van/hgv) that are not happy with paying the current prices, they simply reduce their speed everywhere they go by 15 below their normal travelling speed, wednesday is a good one, maybe do it everyday constantly till the government listen, this means that everyone gets involved with the issues, deliveries still get to thier destinations, we all get to work, people still get paid, and the protest would be noticed, and my excuse to mr policeman should i be pulled over for going too slow............. im going slow to save fuel......
